Specimen Minimum Volume: 5 mL WB (3 mL for child; full microtainer for infant)

  • If negative, no further testing is performed.
  • If positive, IgG and complement will be tested.
    • An eluate will only be ordered and sent to the American Red Cross for testing if one of the following apply:
      • The patient has been transfused with an RBC unit in the past 21 days.
      • The patient has a newly identified alloantibody
      • The patient's history is unknown.
