Specimen:  serum  (preferred)    (alt: plasma)

Type: Container/Tube: SST (gold or marble) (preferred)  or plain red top

                                      Alternative: Mint green (LiHep) tube

Specimen Volume: 2 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume:  1 mL of serum

Collection instructions: 

• Fasting specimen is recommended.
• Protect specimen from light after drawing using foil or other item.
