Specimen Requirement (s)

Specimen Type: 

1. plasma (preferred) or serum
2. 24 hour urine collection

Container/Tube:   

1. Mint green LiHep tube (preferred),  red top or SST (yellow or marble)
2. 24 hour urine jug(s)
   1. If multiple jugs are collected, the patient’s name, height and weight must be written on each jug.

Specimen Volume:    NA

Specimen Minimum Volume:  

1. 1 mL of plasma/serum
2. 1 mixed aliquot of urine.

Collection Instructions:

1. Plasma should be drawn midway into urine collection period.
