Interpretive data
Adult only - values greater than or equal to 10 mg/L are consistent with infection or inflammation. Individuals with evidence of active infection, systemic inflammatory processes, or trauma should not be tested until these conditions have abated. When using HS CRP to assess cardiovascular risk, two measurements should be taken, two weeks apart (averaging results).
The CDC/AHA recommended the following HS CRP cut off points (tertiles) for CVD assessment.
Adult low risk: <1.0 mg/L
Average risk: 1.0 - 3.0 mg/L
High Risk: >3.0 mg/L
