This test utilizes automated instrumentation to count all the cells in the Neutrophilic series, both Mature and Immature.

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top

Specimen Volume: 2 mL

Specimen Minimum Volume: 1 mL

Collection Instructions: Tube must be more than 1/2 full. Immediately invert several times to mix blood.

Avoid hemolysis. Clotted specimens will be rejected.

Sunday through Saturday

Hours: 24 hours

Turnaround Time:

STAT: 45 minutes

Routine: less than 8 hours from receipt.
