Interpretive data:
Synonyms for this test include: "PCR" and "NAAT". This test is performed using the Cepheid Xpert Xpress assay. This is a real-time RT-PCR test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2. This assay has been reviewed by the FDA for Emergency Use Authorization (EUA). The performance characteristics have been verified by the performing laboratory. Results must be considered in the clinical context and a negative result does not rule out infection.
Interpretive data last revised February 4, 2021.
